| Students from Hackney Free with Mr Coriette |
For the third year running the Hackney Schools’ Mentoring
Programme (HSMP) have been generously provided with funding from
the Jack Petchey Foundation.
There were smiles all round when Grants Officer Stephen Coriette
presented the £30,000 cheque to HSMP programme
staff in early May. Students from nearby Hackney Free
& Parochial School also spent time with Mr
Coriette at Ocean talking about how the programme has
benefited them. Ocean is another Hackney project currently receiving
Petchey funding. Over lattes, the students quizzed Mr Coriette
about how they could fund a future field trip to Italy.
The Jack Petchey Foundation is a rapidly expanding charity that
awards grants mostly for youth projects in East London and West
Essex. The Foundation's aim is to help develop the potential within
young people aged 11-25.
