Sandy's experience

written by Sandeepa, Haggerston School

For the last two weeks I have been working in the learning trust, doing my work experience. In the trust there are many departments I was working with HSMP the hackney schools mentoring program. There I worked with four main people Stewart, Deryl, James and Aisha. My job description was to do general business administration work, which involved me compiling email lists on to the computer, filling, faxing, photocopying, answering the phone, writing up letters and many other things.

When I was on my work experience I was lucky enough to work with other schools because that was part of the job. We had to collect the students from school and take them to the ice ring. Aisha also took us to her head office ELBA, she took us their to ask the people up their about their jobs and I also had a chat with Rakesh because he is a very good I.T man and I’m personally interested in I.T.

Working with HSMP is all about helping schools prepare for the future; the way we try to do this is to match students with volunteering people from the city businesses.

Over the last two weeks I have really enjoyed working in the trust, along side the mentoring team. Thank you for taking me on I have learnt many things I will forever remember working here and everyone I worked with.
