Danielle's experience

written by Danielle, Haggerston School

Working for two weeks at the Hackney Schools’ Mentoring Programme has been a very good experience for me. These are the thing I’ve learnt over the two week period.

· learnt how to use the fax machine

· learnt how to use the photocopy machine

· learnt how to touch type

· learnt how to do the filling

· learnt how to answer the phone

The thing I found a bit hard was using the photocopying machine. I really enjoy communicating with the people I was working with. Everybody was really nice at the Learning Trust. I think it’s different from a school environment because you’re set a task you have to make sure it’s finished for the time it was set.

I think you have more freedom in a working environment than school because you can just get up and go toilet when you want and you don’t need to ask. Make drinks when you want. You get to come in later than school sometime finish early.

I am really going to miss working at hsmp because everybody is really nice and really friendly and are always making jokes with each other.

Thank you for letting me work with you here Stuart, Deryl, James and Aisha!
