Who's involved

The Hackney Schools' Mentoring Programme matches students in Hackney secondary schools to volunteer business mentors based in the City of London. Students travel after school to their mentors’ workplace on average once a fortnight.

Companies

The Hackney Schools' Mentoring Programme works in partnership with over ten City companies in London. The HSMP team travel to various companies each year to hold talks and presentations where employees can initially register their interest in the programme. Mentors who sign up then attend a training session and receive ongoing support from the team.

Schools

The Hackney Schools' Mentoring Programme works in secondary schools across the borough. Students in Year 10 are recruited by posters and through assemblies in Year 9. They then complete parental consent and profile forms. The programme is open to all students regardless of ability.

We also run Year 12 mentoring programmes in some schools.
